Bored Pile Construction for Van Bridge – An Thi, Hung Yen

Project: Rehabilitation and Upgrading of DH.60 Road, An Thi District, aimed at gradually improving local transportation infrastructure and creating momentum for economic development in An Thi District in particular and Hung Yen Province in general.

Van Bridge spans the Quang Lang River and is located in Dang Le Commune. The bridge lies on DH.60 Road, An Thi District. As it was constructed many years ago, the steel guardrails have deteriorated due to corrosion, with several sections broken. The road surface at both bridge approaches as well as on the bridge deck has suffered from peeling and cracking.

On May 26, 2023, An Thi District officially commenced the reconstruction of Van Bridge. Hanoi Vietnam Co., Ltd. was selected as the contractor responsible for the bored pile foundation works of the project.

– Geological description:

+ Layer KQ: Fill material consisting of clay mixed with bricks, stones, and plant roots.

+ Layer 1: Brown to gray clay, soft plastic state.

+ Layer 2: Silty clay with occasional organic content, gray-green to dark gray, soft plastic state.

+ Layer 3: Fine sand, gray to bluish-gray, loose structure.

+ Layer 4: Clay, brown-gray to green-gray, flowing plastic state.

+ Layer 5: Clay, green-gray to brown-gray, soft plastic state.

+ Layer 6: Fine sand with occasional thin clay interlayers, yellow-gray to brown-gray, medium dense structure.

+ Bedrock (TK): Sandstone, brown-gray to yellow-brown.

+ Layer 8: Fine sand, green-gray to gray, medium dense structure.

+ Layer 9: Fine sand, brown-gray to gray, dense structure.
